About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the inspection, fault finding, repair, and maintenance of diesel-electric locomotives and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical fault finding and diagnostics on locomotives
- Maintenance and repair of locomotive electrical systems
- Troubleshooting control circuits, wiring, and onboard electronics
- Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals
- Completing maintenance documentation and reporting
- Working safely in accordance with rail industry standards and procedures
Requirements:
- A-Grade Electrical Licence (or equivalent state electrical licence)
- Previous experience working on locomotives, rollingstock, heavy mobile equipment, mining equipment, or similar
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Rail experience preferred but not essential
- Able to pass a CAT 1 rail medical
- Dogging and forklift high desired
